Bonnie the Golden Retriever – Dog Photography in Lincolnshire

Some sessions feel like poetry. The air is still, the light is warm, and the dog—while a little unsure at first—starts to pose like a seasoned pro. That’s exactly what happened with Bonnie, a beautiful Golden Retriever, who joined me for a peaceful morning photography experience in the heart of Laughton Forest.

Bonnie was a little wary when we first met—a natural response for a dog meeting a stranger in a quiet woodland setting. I never rush those introductions. With a calm presence, time, and lots of sniffing space, she started to warm up quickly, showing flashes of curiosity that grew into full-on tail wags and relaxed expressions.

Her humans did a wonderful job giving her that reassurance, and by the time the golden light filtered through the trees, Bonnie was glowing inside and out.

Bonnie reminded me once again why I work in the way I do: slow, dog-led, and built around consent and comfort. Nervous dogs don’t need fixing—they need understanding. And when given that, they often show us the most genuine, touching expressions.

Sessions like this are never about forced posing or perfection. They’re about capturing your dog honestly and gently, in a way that reflects who they really are.
