Perry the BullDog - Reactive Dog Photography in Lincolnshire
Some dogs are models. Others are explorers. And then there’s Perry — a bulldog mix with a cleft palate, a whole lot of heart, and absolutely no interest in posing for the camera (which, honestly, made for an even better story).
His session in a secure enclosed field in Lincolnshire was less about perfect poses and more about unfiltered personality: curious sniffs, wild sprints, sideways glances, and plenty of “you want me to do what?” expressions. And it was brilliant.
From the moment we arrived, Perry had one priority: everything but the camera. With a whole field to investigate, he was far too busy being himself to worry about silly things like sitting still. And that’s exactly how it should be.
Perry wasn’t here for the posing life — and that’s okay. Some of the best images come when the dog doesn’t follow the plan. Instead, I leaned into:
Candid action shots
Natural expressions while exploring
Interactions with his humans (and a few cheeky looks at the camera when he thought I wasn’t watching!)
He may not have wanted the spotlight, but he owned it anyway.
Perry’s cleft palate is just one part of what makes him special — and I approach every dog with that same mindset. Whether your dog is reactive, anxious, disabled, or just too busy for nonsense, they deserve a session that lets them shine on their own terms.
Because every dog deserves to be celebrated just as they are.
