Reactive Dog?
You’re in the right place…
Specialist dog photography for reactive and anxious dogs.
Living with a reactive dog can feel overwhelming at times. As a reactive dog guardian, you might worry about walks, interactions with other dogs, or how strangers will perceive you and your dog. You may even feel unsure if your dog can enjoy experiences that other dog guardians take for granted.
Reactive dogs are just as deserving of love, celebration, and recognition as any other.
If you’ve ever thought your dog couldn’t be part of a photography experience, I promise it can be done safely and stress-free.
I have a fully developed, and real-world tested Reactive Dog Protocol based on 1000’s of hours of Behaviour and Training CPD, over a decade as an internationally certified animal trainer, and the guardian of reactive dogs. This protocol has supported 100’s of families through my Reactive Dog Photography Experiences.
Reactive Dog Photography
A reactive dog is not “bad” or “naughty.” Reactivity is a heightened response to certain stimuli in the environment, often caused by fear, anxiety, or overstimulation. Your dog may bark, lunge, freeze, or show other signs of stress when they encounter:
Other dogs or people
Sudden sounds or movements
Crowded spaces or new environments
Reactivity can appear in many forms, and each dog is unique. Understanding your dog’s triggers and learning to read their body language is the first step to helping them feel safe and confident.
Many reactive dog owners think photography sessions are impossible—but they’re not. With my experience in dog behaviour and training, I create calm, safe, and enjoyable photography sessions tailored to reactive dogs.
I let your dog explore and settle at their own pace.
I choose quiet, low-stress locations, or scout private spaces to minimise triggers.
I watch body language closely and adapt the experience in real-time.
Positive reinforcement and patience are at the core of every experience.
The result is natural, expressive images that capture your reactive dog’s personality—without pressure, without stress, and with their wellbeing as the priority.
You can see more about how I create these experiences on my Dog Photography Experience page.
Why me?
Every year I spend 100’s of hours developing both my photographic craft and
my expertise as an animal behaviour and training specialist, as well as leading on
an Applied Animal Behaviour and Training BSc training the animal professionals
of the future.
This business exists because of our first reactive dog Marty [on the right!].
He inspired me to use my professional behaviour and training knowledge to
create a business that serves other anxious and reactive dogs, in a way that
allows their welfare to be protected whilst also capturing stunning images.
